WELCOME

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the official website for the 10th International Conference on Managing Fatigue.

This biennial event began in 1993, in Fremantle, Australia. Though primarily held in Australia, the conference has made past visits to the US: 2005 in Seattle and 2009 in Boston. We are happy to be hosting this conference, for its 10th installment, in San Diego, California.

While the main emphasis of the meeting has always been on fatigue in transportation, other sectors such as natural resources, mining, healthcare, and the military have been strongly represented. The cross-fertilization of research and programs has been a particular strength of our meetings in the past, and will be so again in 2017.

With an opportunity to select any location in the US, San Diego was at the top of our list. Returning to the West Coast has some distinct travel advantages for our Australian travelers but, moreover, there are few locales in the US more idyllic than San Diego. As we unveil our conference program, it will become apparent that we will be embracing San Diego's strong military character, and we will be integrating into the program unique experiences that can only be found in this historic city.

Coming on the heels of a very successful 2015 conference in Fremantle, we are excited to continue the conference's tradition of facilitating a laid-back, relaxed, convivial style. We are planning an exciting event that will include compelling and timely topics, with invited presentations from world-renowned speakers.

Extending to you a warm invitation and we hope you will be able to join us March 20-23, 2017, in sunny San Diego!
